Do you want to understand the issues that, perhaps, drove the countries back to war just 2 decades after the First World War?

In this video,  let us go back in time and discover hidden facts about one of the most unforgettable historical events, World War ii.

We will also know if could World War ii be prevented. So, without further ado, let us find out.

But first, let us understand World War ii and why it happened.

All You Need To Know About World War II – Could it be prevented?

So, why did you think the countries return to war 20 years later, after the first world war?

The Great War’s devastation changed Europe. Granted, Germany’s Poland invasion in 1939 caused a war between The UK and France, to formally start World War ii.

However, this historical event was just the final outcome in the sequence of events. Many political and economic challenges and issues had been developing and remained unsolved by the earlier conflict and tension for years!

The instability that happened in Europe during World War I started another conflict. Rising to power, a politically and economically unstable country Germany, led by Adolf Hitler, rearmed the nation and came up with strategic treaties with Japan and Italy. Why? This is to further his aspirations to dominate the world.

Adolf Hitler’s invasion drove Great Britain and France to declare war on Germany, which marked the start of World War ii.

Over the next six years, the conflict took more lives and destroyed more and more properties around the globe.

And among the people killed were about six million Jews murdered in the Nazi camps, which was part of Hitler’s “Solution” and became known as the Holocaust.

The Treaty of Versailles

It was in 1919 when representatives from other countries assembled in France to develop a peace treaty that could set terms to end the First World War.

However, in breaking with tradition, the ones at the end of the conflict were not included in the meeting. This triggered anger in Germany, which was then the largest and perhaps the most defeated country.

And without Germany, the victors, which were led by the United States, France, and the United Kingdom, had decided what peace would be like when the conflict was done.

United States President Woodrow Wilson wanted to form peace based on his theory or framework to prevent global conflicts in the future.

This framework, the Fourteen Points, was made to establish the international organization called the League of Nations that would interest the collective security idea.

This means that the attack on a country would be considered a threat to the whole group. The Fourteen Points framework also called for a reduction of arms and free trade to help lay the groundwork for the self-determination principle.

In particular, Germany’s economic and political instability lingered resentment over harsh terms imposed by Versailles Treaty, and it fueled the rise to power of the Nazi Party and Adolf Hitler.

Could World War II be avoided?

Perhaps, this is the question that comes to mind when you talk about the things that caused wars and devastation. Could WWII have been prevented?

The truth is, there are many ways that could World War ii be prevented. It is because there are many reasons why the war started. And while there are many ways, check out how the war could have been avoided.

  1. If only Adolf Hitler believed there was a threat of war, including France’s invasion on the western flank, then he may hold off the Poland invasion. This means there would have been greater actions against Hitler, who made the territory in central Europe leading up to that point.

If he had only dealt with the threat accordingly, there would be a serious building up of material and men. Best of all, the cold war may have ensued.

However, there would still be a likelihood of war that turned hot. This must be a plausible scenario, but it leaves everything on the verge of war and leaves Hitler in a better place.

  1.  Another potential reason to prevent World War ii was the Anschluss in 1938. In simple terms, it was about joining Austria with Germany and creating a larger Germanic state.

Because of this, Hitler was given a lot more power in terms of manpower and industry. It was also the point at which Hitler felt safe when annexing the territory.

If only world leaders had declared war over this rather than over Poland, the story would have been different.

After the Poland invasion, there was the time of the phoney war. It was part of the WWII war declaration caused by Poland’s invasion and offensives in the West against Belgium and France.

Yes, there may be conflicts, but not in a major sense. The phoney war lends a little weight to the war, as the war would not get worse.

If Poland may be considered being roped in to attack Germany, then Hitler could have backed down and not caused the war. But then again, this could have several outcomes.

  1. Also, if only the countries agreed to sign the framework of President Wilson, the Fourteen Points, rather than the Treaty of Versailles, it could have prevented World War ii.

This framework must have led to resentment in Germany. It would have helped reduce the devastation of the great depression. Best of all, it could have helped monitor Hitler closely.

  1. Next would be the Depression and Wall Street Crash.

If only the U.S. Internal policy had managed to stop this, Germany would have been in a situation where Hitler would have taken power.

His Putsch failed, and it would have been the end of his political career if the Weimar republic was not bankrupt. And since they were not a very good government, they didn’t exactly have the opportunity to work with either.

Because let’s face it, changing the entire system of the country’s government will lead to bigger problems.

  1. Finally, the stopping of German unification

The effects of this war and unification are massive catalysts for WWI and treaties of a feat of unified Germany after the war. The French winning the war may have been far-fetched and not plausible.

The driving force behind the unification was Otto von Bismark. He was from a military family and was part of the military himself. In 1848, the European rebellions also hit Prussia and Otto wanted to attack the revolutionaries.

Only if Otto was there could he have been shot by a stray bullet. The unification could have ended before it started, or it would have likely taken a very different way.
